Just As Nature Intended

THE CHALLENGE:

As an important keystone of their international strategy, Aveda was looking to launch their first retail location in Japan. They turned to FRCH to create a bold, sustainable flagship environment that would help their brand gain quick acceptance into the Japanese culture.

THE RESOLUTION:

Located in Tokyo, we created a three-level, 6,000 sq. ft. flagship environment that included an Aveda salon, spa, café and retail space. Remaining true to Aveda's brand heritage, we designed an environmentally conscious building, integrating extensive indigenous and re-claimed materials. Large environmental graphics, solar panels, and a rooftop garden help to further emphasize Aveda's focus on the natural world. Warm, soothing earth tones and wood textures were carefully selected to relax and rejuvenate the mind, body and spirit. Shortly after opening, the Aveda Tokyo Lifestyle Salon & Spa was awarded "Store Of The Year" by the 33rd Annual Institute of Store Planners/VM+SD International Store Design Competition.
