Big Ideas for Little Space
Around the world, duty-free stores have a reputation for being utilitarian. Liverpool trusted long-time design partner FRCH to create a location that stood out and offered a welcoming shopping experience in a narrow 29 ft. by 125ft. area; ultimately reinforcing the Liverpool brand reputation for presenting upscale products in aesthetically spectacular spaces.
After visiting the new space and reviewing previous work for Liverpool, we realized that both the space and the client's characteristic brand architecture offered some opportunities to create something bigger than the initial project plan might have suggested. We opened the two-level store's entry with a glass front and a floor-to-roof balcony that created an airy atmosphere and enabled customers to immediately get a feel for the full range of available products. With an up escalator in the front of the store and a down escalator toward the back, FRCH was able to organically create a directional shopping flow that encourages customers to move logically through the space, effortlessly viewing product displays.
