A Long History Of Design Success
When you've had the privelege of partnering with a client for over 30 years, you're often trusted to provide a variety of expertise. Here, we've decided to share one of our many success stories for Macy's.
For decades, Macy's had made a home in New Orleans, then Hurricane Katrina struck. While it might have been easier for them to cut their losses and leave, Macy's instead chose to stay behind to rebuild their image in New Orleans, from the ground up. They asked for our collaboration.
Macy's and New Orleans were looking for a fresh start, and with the help of FRCH, the Macy's Lakeside and Esplanade projects became the next-generation prototype design for a 3-level store. Lakeside was an entirely new store, Esplanade was destroyed by the hurricane and completely renovated. In conjunction with the Macy's design team, we developed a unifying architectural language, while leveraging the navigational attraction of natural light and a warm, sophisticated color palette. Both stores opened to fanfare as part of Macy's 150 year celebration.
