Stop at the Trop
FRCH was selected to design five individual guestroom towers as part of a resort themed complex, connected by a casino and retail concourse on the most prominent corner on the Las Vegas strip.
At 12,000,000sf, the Tropicana Mega Resort would have been the largest single building ever built. Its program included 10,224 guestrooms, 105,000sf casino, 250,000sf retail mall, 600,000sf convention center, 3 resort spas, 2 show lounges, 20 restaurant and entertainment venues, parking for 6,500 automobiles and a self contained fire station. The complex was designed to allow the existing resort to remain open until one-half of the new resort was complete. All design and documentation was fully coordinated and issued in complete packages, rather than the traditional fast track design process used on most signature Las Vegas Resorts.
