A Celebration Of Core Values
Whole Foods was looking to transform Frank W. Gehry's 1960s Columbia Maryland Rouse Company office building into a signature space for the popular, organic grocer. Consistent with recent efforts to revitalize downtown Columbia, Whole Foods commissioned FRCH to re-imagine the interior and design décor of the nearly 60,000 square foot site.
FRCH embraced the complexity of the design work and brought solutions that pay homage to Gehry's postmodern style while also evoking a warm, inviting atmosphere. While the building façade was left largely unaltered, FRCH leveraged Whole Foods' fresh, inspiring and approachable brand ethos. The creation of environmental graphics, sculptures and simple murals complemented the deconstructionist bent of the exterior design and offered new life into the reimagined interior.
